Today I watched a hilarious YouTube series called Bay Life. This series is based on many different topics and concepts. I watched about three videos of this series. The first video I watched was called, Bay Life: Liquor Store. The main character is very lost, but in a comic way. If you were to look at this video you would find it so funny. Also, this particular video was about how a young man tried to buy some alcohol, but the clerk didn’t let him because he thought it was a fake ID. And not only that, but his precious bike got stolen. This was funny because of his reactions to the events that kept happening to him. Another video I watched was called, Bay Life: Return of the Mack. The concept of this show was him at first trying to get a job, but ended up inside accomplishing the mission of getting a young ladies number. The funniest part of this show was when the young lady came to his house and asked her was she cold and gave her a shirt. No only did he give her a shirt but she had a huge puff jacket on. If she happened to be cold, that would have been a problem (laughing out loud).
In addition, though I think that everyone should check out this show on You Tube. It has a lot of humor in it and everyone does a good job in the film. If you happen to do check it out you would go to www.youtube.com and search for Bay Life. That is when you would then see lots of videos that pop up from this artist. I hope you enjoy it like I did.
16 year old Miley Cyrus is dating 21 year old Justin Gaston. Everyone approves of this relationship because she is an actress. Personally, I feel that she is sending the wrong message to the young teens that look up to her, whoshe inspires. The message that I receive from the public acceptance of this relationship is that any older man has the right to talk to a young girl or holler at a young girl, which is NOT acceptable. 13 year old Cymphonique Miller has a video out where she is barely dressed. I believe she got the message that this was okay from the media. I think this is dangerous because dressing a 13 year-old in something that is borderline appropriate for a 23 year-old makes older men think it’s ok to talk to them and look at them sexually because they look grown, even though they’re children. I don’t understand how young girls putting themselves out there like they’re grown, and being portrayed as something they’re not, no one has a problem with it. It’s not right for a grown man to talk to a young girl period. What the men don’t understand is that a young girl is not supposed to be with a grown man even if she claims she wants to. The man is an adult and they are a child, that’s not acceptable. If this was your child how would you accept it?
I would love to have a vampire boyfriend!! Twilight New Moon is the ultimate romance. Seriously, two hot human/creature guys with your best interest at heart. The hot human/creature guys have a love passion for you that is completely a dream come true. Dammn!! Why can’t this be in real life? This movie instills values of love and acceptance for your mate by not judging them by their flaws but loving every part of them. Where are all the hot vampire guys??
Whats up with Miley Cyrus??? Pole dancing? Many young little girls are looking up to Miley while she flipping, twisting, twirling her hips and legs around a pole (remember she is 16). I find it disappointing when the wrong people have the most influential impact on our youth. Miley is cute, fun and young which involuntarily makes her an instant "role model". Even though Miley is evloving as an artist with the intentions of developing a more mature audience, Hannah Montana was intially targeted towards the preteen age group. As if the preteen audience wasn't going to follow her. Thats like Elmo leaving Sesame Street to smoke crack on a different program. Although Elmo's audience is young the thought of the most lovable child character smoking crack will resinate with them forever. As bad as the world is now we don't need a nation of crack smokers or little sluts. In no way is this a diss to Miley. We need as a country more positve figures in the lime light versus poorly influenced ones.
A few weeks ago at my school (Oakland High) it was Spirit Week. Spirit Week is the week that everyone gets to be out of character and have fun. Monday was “Wacky Tacky Day,” Tuesday was “Impression Day (when you dress as a celebrity),” and Wednesday was “Formal Day.” Formal Day everyone was supposed to dress up very fancy like you were going to a dance or something. It was also the day where after school you could have a fake wedding. So my boyfriend and I decided that we should participate in the wedding event. Also, surprisingly it happened to be on his birthday too, so he got 2 treats in one! Therefore, straight after school we headed straight for the altar. We got to take a picture and get an Oakland High wedding certificate. I found it to be funny and meaningful.

It seems like kids are growing up faster and faster these days. From the music they listen to, to the clothes they wear. Some people might say that it comes from media influences like Miley Cyrus or Cymphonique, Master P’s little 13 year old daughter. Miley is 16 years old and dating a 20 something year old. What kind of message does that send her “tween” fans? Cymphonique is making her singing debut with a song called “Lil Miss Swagger” where she is wearing questionable clothing that shows her 13 year old training bra… who would call that appropriate?
I’m not saying that the media is the only place pre-teens are getting their influence. Stuff that goes on at school and in young people’s personal lives can be full of negative influences. My little sister is 13 years old and the stuff she is going through I didn’t even know about till I was in high school. I try to be a good big sister and not be judgmental because after all, who am I to call the kettle black when I am doing a lot of the stuff she is. But there is a difference: I am 18 and she is 13. And 13 year olds should not be experiencing what 18 years olds are. But as the 18 year old and the older and wiser voice in the matter, all I can do is try to model responsible behavior and hope she catches on.

After being beaten and going back, she suddenly realize that an abusive relationship can end in death and is not something that she wanted. Returning time after time because he apologizes. Then you see he's not the person that your deeply in love with. Returning is the easiest thing that you can do, leaving is the hardest. When you finally realize that he really beat you, you try to leave but you cant because its to late. You were in denial but now your not and don't know what to do. Rihanna speaks about how she made a mistake by going back. She say if it happened to her that it can happen to anyone. She states that she sent the wrong message to young girls by going back to Chris Brown. I love the fact that she was being honest and shared that information with us. I personally look at Rihanna different because she had the courage to talk about the abuse that she faced that took place with Chris Brown. To all teens the hardest thing is leaving. From personal experience Rihanna sates, “Don't react off love. F love. Come out of the situation and look at it third person and for what it really is and then make your decision because love is blind”.
Rihanna explanation is so heartfelt. You can see and feel the pain she went through during and after the relationship. The love she had for Chris was evident. It's amazing how the celebrity status of someone can dehumanize them. Rihanna is only human and humanly she does human things. Making a mistake is human nature. Life is a learning game meant for everyone. Celebrities are not excluded. As far as Chris...whatever.

Some kids look up to Oprah as a lady who does the right things at all times. Some one who is set in her ways is who has recently informed up that she is 100 percent against dating violence. Last week doesn’t seem like she was too much against dating violence do to the FACT that one of the greatest gospel singers BeBe Winans on her show and he has a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE case pending for pushing his ex wife on the ground over custody charges. So could it be that Oprah is choosing sides when she could lend out a helping hand to Chris Brown after what he has done for her but she can allow BeBe Winans on her show. With that said Oprah’s decision has left many people calling her, what else, but a hypocrite! It seems all the negative backlash has started to get to Oprah as she's now banned Winans from her show. That is until the charges against him are resolved.
