Being my own role model was a step I had to make in order for me to be successful in life. Not just in life, but as a person, father, son, brother etc. Growing up in Oakland isn’t hard, but it’s not easy either, you can say it’s more of a balanced rating overall. It has wonderful places and programs for youth, homeless shelters and other things. Yet, it downs in the ranks with its history of violence and crime. For some people, the violence might be too much to handle and it starts to becomes normal!

Role Models are people which other people emulate them in example of what they want to be or do. Tupac Shakur is a great example of a healthy relationship role model because he reaches out to communities. Most of his songs aren’t a negative influence for people to hear, he raps about how real men should treat their lady and gives out messages to females that are in an unhealthy relationship.

What is a role model? Role models are practically EVERYTHING. Music, family, television, radio, video games etc., just about anything that has an influence on your lifestyle is a role model. There are good role models and bad role models.

When I was seven years old, I was told if a boy came over to me and asked to borrow some of my coloring crayons, knock him out. Now that I am older, I think about that more and remember it means to never get into a relationship with someone who has to ask you to borrow something. He should have his own, well except for the part where you beat the person down, but this can most go vise versa. This is just one lesson a young lady may learn most likely as a teen.
